MoD announced the 83-aircraft Tejas Mk1A contract in February 2021 (about ₹48,000 crore), followed by a second 97-aircraft contract in September 2025 (about ₹62,370 crore, including 68 single-seat and 29 twin-seat aircraft). This should be tracked as an active production pipeline with phased deliveries, not as a proposal-stage requirement.
